Intro--A Little About Me :)

Hi! My name is Jessie. I live in Virgina with my fiance Justin who is in the military. I am starting this blog because I have recently started updating my facebook with some recipes that I try, and a friend suggested I start a blog...so here it goes! I'm terrible at keeping up with these things, but hopefully since this is going to be a cooking blog I will be more motivated to update it! Cooking has recently become a passion of mine, and I love trying new recipes. When I find a recipe I love, I usually have to cut it down to two servings because Justin refuses to eat leftovers. Sometimes I have to get creative and add or take away some elements of a recipe, but I love changing things up and making them my own. I am very inspired by the stars I see on the Food Network, especially Bobby Flay, Giada deLaurentiis and the one and only Paula Deen. I think my cooking is a good blend of healthy meals and comfort foods, and I absolutely looooove cooking (and eating!) all things Mexican. Sometimes I think I was meant to be born in a Mexican family, but I can't deny my Italian roots. Even though cooking is just a hobby now, I'm very interested in taking my passion to the next level and going to culinary school. We'll see where the future takes me, but until then, I'll continue to be an experimental cook in my own kitchen creating new dishes from the heart. I hope I inspire some of you to put the boxes away and cook from scratch!
